The Gay and Lesbian Community Center of Fort Lauderdale (GLCC) made some exciting announcements recently.Ã‚Â After years of searching for a new home, the center recently unveiled a new 35,000 square foot complex called Equality Park.Ã‚Â The complex is made up of three buildings on almost 6 acres of waterfront property in Wilton Manors, Florida. In addition to unveiling their new home, the GLCC changed their name to The Pride Center.
For over 19 years, The Pride Center has provided a welcoming space for the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.Ã‚Â Ã‚Â Today the center hosts over 60 support, social and educational group meetings every month.Ã‚Â Meetings range in topics, including arts, athletics, health, men, seniors, youth and women.Ã‚Â With over 17,000 adults and youth attending activities at the center each year, coupled with the centerÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s outreach activities that impact 26,262 residents and visitors, The Pride Center is making an impact on the Greater Fort Lauderdale community.
