PA: Home Sales Rise in Philadelphia

Philadelphia Real EstateHousing data continued their seesaw behavior Monday, with sales contracts for existing houses falling in February from January, the National Association of Realtors reported.

The Realtors’ Pending Sales Index slipped 0.5 percent in February, but the agreements of sale signed during the month were still 9.2 percent higher than a year ago, the group reported.

In the eight-county Philadelphia region, however, signed contracts were 23.5 percent higher in February than in January and 23.9 percent above the same month in 2011, according to the Prudential Fox & Roach HomExpert report.
