OR: Portland Home Sales Slow, Inventory Low in September

Portland Real EstatePortland-area home sales slowed in September, but a decline in new listings are keeping the inventory of homes low.

That’s good news for pricing. The market action report, compiled monthly by the Regional Multiple Listing Service and released Friday, showed the median made up ground lost in August and reached a new high for the year at $230,800.

The average price, however, fell 1.3 percent, suggesting sales for the month weren’t as strong in the highest pricing brackets. The median price for September is still 3.8 percent lower than the same month a year ago, though the margin is smaller in certain geographic sub-markets.
