With the Dallas Purple Party happening in late April, sometimes early may, I thought this would be a great opportunity to explore all the city has to offer while experiencing one of the largest LGBT events in Dallas.
Staying at the Warwick Melrose Hotel, which played host to many of the visitors for the Purple Party, I found myself in the heart of one of Dallas’s gayborhood and one of the cities liveliest neighborhoods – Oaklawn.
An area encompassing 12 square miles, Oaklawn is one of the more established areas of Dallas. With Cedar Springs Rd. running through the heart of Oaklawn, here you’ll find some of the best bars, restaurants, and most colorful characters in Dallas.
