A total of 1,260 homes were sold in the state last month, the group announced yesterday, compared with 1,052 in July 2011, a 19.8 percent increase, year-over-year. With 7,044 homes sold in the first seven months of the year, 2012 sales are tracking 20.4 percent higher than their level in 2011, when 5,851 homes were sold in the same period.
“We’re seeing more and more multiple offers all the time,” said Rye Realtor John Rice, the association’s president, in a statement. “It seems buyers really are getting the picture that conditions are pretty close to ideal right now, and as a result they are becoming ever more aggressive in terms of purchasing.”
