New Hampshire Home Sales Jumped in May

New Hampshire Real EstateHome sales shot up 27.7 percent in May compared with the same month a year earlier, and the New Hampshire Association of Realtors hailed the jump as a sign of recovery in the housing market.

According to the group, 1,221 homes were sold in the state last month, compared with 956 in May 2011. A total of 4,440 New Hampshire homes were sold in the first five months of the year, up 21 percent from the 3,670 homes sold in the same period in 2011.

In Merrimack County, 121 homes were sold in May, up 45.8 percent from the 83 sold in May 2011.
