NC: Coastal Real Estate Market Improving

Area businesspeople are looking forward to more activity this summer. Some are even confident enough, or at least venturesome enough, to invest in more merchandise and even remodeling. Meanwhile, real estate sales have also improved.

Along with the retail side of business, prospects have also been improving for the real estate market. According to the Wilmington Regional Association of Realtors, total units sold and median sales prices each increased by 6 percent in March compared to the same month last year.

Judy Parlatore of Figure Eight Realty said that there was more interest this year than last. Not only was her firm receiving more inquiries and showing more properties, it had closed out five sales during the first quarter.
