National Association of Realtors: Winter Good Time for Buyers & Sellers

Is there a “best time” to sell your home? According to local real estate professionals and the National Association of Realtors, factors such as interest rates, employment, competitive pricing and even the school calendar year are factors to consider when selling a home in any season.

The National Association of Realtors website states several advantages for a seller to list in the winter instead of waiting until spring:

–Inventory. By March, April and May, there may be more competition. By listing now, you avoid it.

–Motivated buyers. Generally, according to the Realtor association, “the buyers who are house hunting during the holidays and in the winter are serious and motivated. By listing now, you’ll potentially get one of these buyers to write an offer on your home.”
