Home prices on Maui soared by more than 30 percent in June on a modest increase in the number of sales, while condominium prices jumped by more than 25 percent on sales that rose by 18 percent, according to statistics from the Realtors Association of Maui.
The median price of a single-family home in Maui County was $575,500 in June, which was 34 percent higher than the median price of $429,000 during the same month last year.
That was based on sales of 86 homes, which was 6 percent higher than the 81 homes sold in June 2011. The June figures include the sale of one home on Molokai and none on Lanai. The sale of 98 percent of the island of Lanai to Oracle Corp. CEO Larry Ellison, which closed on June 27, was not reflected in the data.
