Home sales soared in January in the Baltimore metro area, and real estate experts said while it may not mean an end to the real estate crisis, it is a good start.
According to a report by Real Estate Business Intelligence, sales in Maryland from Jan. 10, 2010, to Jan 11, 2011, were up nearly 17 percent, while prices were down almost 5 percent.
“It may not herald the end to the housing crisis, but it is a positive sign,” said Daraius Irani, an economist at Towson University.
