Home prices continue to fall in Tampa and in most major U.S. cities as the nation rides a bumpy road to a real estate recovery. It’s further evidence, experts say, that the housing market will continue to weigh on the broader economy in 2012.
The Standard & Poor’s/Case-Shiller index released Tuesday showed that prices dropped from September to October in 19 of the 20 cities tracked.
In the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area, prices fell 0.3 percent in October compared with the previous month. Prices fell 6.1 percent during the previous 12 months.
