Metro Orlando’s median price for existing-home sales appeared to be recovering last month at the same rate as most of the state’s other metropolitan areas, according to a report released Thursday by Florida Realtors.
The midpoint resale price for a single-family home in the four-county Orlando metro area during September was $125,200, down 2 percent from a year ago. Overall for metro areas within the state, the median sales price of $133,900 was down 1 percent from a year earlier.
Sales, though, were not as robust in Metro Orlando as elsewhere. With 2,160 single-family resales last month in Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties, about 1 percent fewer homes sold in Orlando compared with a year earlier. For 18 other metro areas in Florida, September sales were up an average of 10 percent from a year ago.
