Delaware Home Sales Flat, Prices Down in December

Delaware Gay Real EstatePrices continued their downward drift, and sales were generally flat last month, but Delaware Realtors say they are sensing a slowly growing vigor in the residential real estate market.

In some cases, it’s being driven by historically low mortgage rates — Kent County Realtor Dee Hake DeMolen recently had a first-time buyer lock in at 2.75 percent for the first five years.

In other cases, buyers are responding to a declining supply of unsold homes, noted Andy Staton, who has a team practice with Prudential Gallo in Rehoboth Beach. Sellers also are more inclined to heed their agent’s advice and list their homes at realistic asking prices, he said.
