DC: Home Sales in January Up 31% Over Last Year

Home sales in the Washintgon, D.C., metro region got a bump last month, according to one index.

Pending sales were up 31 percent from a year earlier, according to RealEstate Business Intelligence, a subsidiary of Metropolitan Regional Information Systems of Rockville.

The index is a two-year moving window that uses pending sales and median sales price. The region encompasses Washington, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties and nearby jurisdictions in Northern Virginia.
