Davie Village – Vancouver’s Gayborhood

Davie Village - Vancouver - Apple Maps

Pride season is mostly behind us, but not in our neighbor to the north, where Vancouver is just getting its weeklong gay Pride started. The fun starts July 29, when Mayor Gregor Robertson announces his official proclamation and hoists a rainbow flag over City Hall, and culminates with the Vancouver Pride Parade on August 4, the fifth largest in the world. “Gay Christmas,” as homo locals call it, sees some 700,000 revelers descend on the city to party down.

Whether you’re making it to Rain City in time for Pride, attending the Vancouver Queer Film Festival in August, or planning a trip in the months to come, NewNowNext has the rundown on where to go, who to see, where to stay and more!

You’ll find the bulk of the city’s queer hot spots in Davie Village, Vancouver’s main gayborhood–including Celebrities, bear den Pumpjack Pub, Numbers and sports bar Score on Davie, all of which will have Pride parties.
