Even though San Francisco’s median sales price is nearly at $1 million, there are still quite a few sales in the city under that amount. In a recent report, Paragon Real Estate found that Excelsior/Visitacion Valley had 74 sales of single-family homes with two or more bedrooms under $1 million in the last six months. The neighborhood has a median price of $642K. (The galleries above show the types of homes in the neighborhood that you can get for around that price.)
Portola/Silver and Mission Terraces came in second, with 64 single-family sales under $1 million and a median sales price of $720K. Third was Parkside, with 54 sales and a 957K median.
Even in neighborhoods with a higher-than-$1 million median price tag, there were still several under-$1 million sales. Bernal Heights, for example, had a median sales price of nearly $1.2 million but still had 22 single-family sales under $1 million in the last six months. The Outer Richmond came in at a median of $1.1 million but still had 9 sales under $1 million as well.
