Prices rose 0.5 percent from September to October. Compared with October 2011, prices rose 6.7 percent in October 2012, including distressed sales, which are homes in some stage of delinquency or foreclosure. With distressed sales removed from the equation, home prices rose 6.8 percent during the same 12-month period.
Home prices nationally have increased on average 6.3 percent between October 2011 and October 2012.
