Why real estate? It’s a question Alex gets asked all the time.
“It really just comes down to that we love doing, being able to meet awesome people and build great relationships,” he explains. “Real estate combined my love of customer service and business and creativity. You take business and passion and put it together into something you want to do in life, and hopefully that’s your career.”
For the last several years, Alex has built his business with passion and done so in an unconventional way. He began Peak Properties, co-founding with Derek Weber, with a team concept in mind from the start, which is a departure from the traditional model of most realtors that grow a team out of necessity. The usual arc sees an enterprising realtor gain success, build a team to accommodate the increase in demand, and function as a realtor’s ad hoc fiefdom.
“We think of ourselves more as an agent co-op,” Alex says. “Our agents have their own buy-in, and I don’t make every decision. Our clients dictate the majority of our decisions, and we support our agents in service of those decisions. That’s what we bring to the table.”
