Sales of previously occupied homes dropped in September across the country and in New Mexico after national numbers hit a two-year high in August.
Closed sales in the Albuquerque metro area fell almost 11 percent from 731 in August to 653 in September, according to data from the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors.
The median price, which has been seesawing month to month in New Mexico, rose to $172,000 in September after coming in at $165,000 the month before, GAAR statistics show. That also is a slight increase in median price compared to $171,500 in September 2011.
