The Birmingham Association of Realtors said today that residential transactions totaled 803 last month, an increase of 43 percent from the 563 home sales recorded in October 2010.
Prices didn’t fare as well, weighed down by foreclosure-related transactions, the group said. The average sales price in October was $152,926, down 17 percent from the figure in the prior year. The median price, representing the midpoint for transactions, was $127,000, down 15 percent.
