Asheville is eclectic and varied in all areas. The mountains seem to draw people to live here. There is much to do, from skiing, to mountain biking, horseback riding, rafting, as well as cultural events, like the symphony and the Asheville Theatre. The climate is mostly mild, even in the winter, and reasonably temperate in the summer. There are numerous gay and Lesbian groups, a gay newspaper, and several bars. It is an easy place to live and work.
