There's bike trails in the foothills and down by the river in the Bosque, There's easy and strenuous hiking trials up the Sandia Mountain-and then take the Tram down! More than anything Albuquerque is a very livable small city with liberal areas, beautiful parks, and a comfortable atmosphere.
