At Gay Realty Network, we list gay friendly real estate professionals all across the United States.

Kansas is one of the most conservative states in the nation, in the heart of the country's bible belt, with almost 3 million residents. Eastern Kansas is mostly hill coutnry, while central and western Kansas is relatively flat. Kansas's economy is largely agricultural, with cattle, sheep, hogs, corn, sorghum, soybeans, salt and cotton as major exports. The state also has a large oil and natural gas industry.

Topeka is the capital city of Kansas, on the Kansas River in north eastern Kansas. At last check, Topeka had just one gay bar - Topeka is very conservative, and is home to the infamous anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church.

Wichita is the largest city in Kansas, with about 350,000 residents - the city is located on the Wichita River in south-central Kansas, and has several gay bars.

Kansas City, which spans the Kansas-Missouri border, is the gay magnet for the region. The greater Kansas City metro area has more than 2 million residents, with the downtown on the Missouri side. Gay spots in Kansas city include Broadway for nightlife and the Plaza Country Club for fine dining. While there are no identifiably gay neighborhoods in the Kansas City area, the Plaza area does have a strong gay presence. Real estate prices are much lower here than on the coasts.

If you're fond of the heartland, Kansas might be the place for you.

At Gay Realty Network, we know from experience how important having gay or gay friendly real estate agent can be, especially when it's time to make an offer and fill out a contract. Having an agent that knows the difference between having joint tenancy or holding a property as tenants in common, who understands gay/lesbian families and our own unique real estate needs and challenges, and who can help you find the gay friendly neighborhoods in your area where you and your friends and family will feel comfortable is invaluable.
