Kauai, the Garden Isle, is the most natural and beautiful of the Hawaiian Islands.
Kauai is a relatively small island, and it's the only one of the four major Hawaiian islands that doesn't have a road that circumnavigates the island.
It's also the wettest island, with an astonishing 450" of rainfall a year at the center of the island.
The island runs the gamut from dry, deset-like conditions on the west coast to lush tropical splendour on the north.
Kauai also has Waimea Canyon, the Grand Canyon of Hawaii... a beautiful red-rock canyon that channels all that rainwater down to the sea.
If you're looking for a condo for an island getaway, check Princeville in the north - a planned community with two world-class golf courses, amazing ocean views and all the basic amenities.
Or Kapa'a and the Eastern Shore, where there are a number of older and newer condo complexes and the island's only Safeway store.
You'll also find condos in Poipu, on the Island's perpetually sunny south shore.
The Kauai real estate market also has single family homes from small bungalows to huge tropical mansions. If you want to be close to everything, look in Lihue, the county seat and the home of the island's hospital, airport, and Kukui Grove Mall.
The homesteads above Kapa'a also have ,uch to offer - a little quieter, but still close to everything.
Want something a little more rural? Try the north shore, where you'll find a number of larger lots and agricultural/residental options, where you can grow your own bananas or mangoes and start your own plantation.
Kauai is a great place to visit, and if you're looking for the laid-back Hawaiian lifestyle, Kauai real estate might be perfect for you.
