About Gay/Lesbian Honolulu, Oahu
Don serves Oahu and the Honolulu Area, including Aiea, Ewa Beach, Haleiwa, Hauula, Kaaawa, Kahalu'u, Kahuku, Kailua, Kaneohe, Kapolei, Kunia, Laie, Mililani, Pearl City, Wahiawa, Waialua, Waianae, Waimanalo, Waipahu, Wake Island, and more.Honolulu has not suffered as badly as many parts of the country but sales have slowed and prices have dropped - by how much, depends on the area and price range It is definitely a buyer's market and cash buyers have a definite edge. So leave your options open and let me guide you through the neighborhoods. had hoped to see a stronger recovery of the pace of sales by now but they still remain slow, compared with a few years ago. But, remember always that O'ahu is a small island with a large population, so there will always be demand for housing. Location, as usual, is important. Not just for proximity to the ocean but also to parks, entertainment, dining, shopping and, for Hawaii's gay and lesbian population, a welcoming environment. Because of the mixture of races, the high rate of intermarriage and the diversity of religion, including a large Buddhist population, this island is a much more tolerant and welcoming place than many places on the Mainland. The eastern half of the island from Kaneohe, on the Windward side, round to Pearl City on the South Shore is the most welcoming. That doesn't rule out the North Shore and the western side of the island, though there are areas there where you might encounter prejudice. Waikiki has the greatest concentration of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender residents, but the population is widely spread across the island with concentrations in Makiki, Kaimuki, Hawaii Kai and Kailua, probably as much for amenity and convenience as for fear of prejudice. This is a beautiful island with the amenities of a city and a very comfortable, welcoming place. Let me help you with your next gay Hawaii real estate sale or purchase.
