In January of 2001, we vacationed on 4 islands in Hawaii, starting on Kauai, then to Maui, then to the Big Island and Oahu. In the three short days that we were here, we fell in love with Pahoa town and the East Side of the Big Island. In fact, this area made such an impact on us that we made a 5 year goal to move here. My partner had been to Hawaii 11 times by this trip, and every time he came, he tried to figure out "how can I stay and live in Paradise". This five year plan was reduced to 1 1/2 years and we did NOTHING to make it happen.

We started our vacation rental business (Hawaiian Paradise Vacation Rentals) in January of 2003 with 3 homes. It quickly grew to 14 that first year. I obtained my real estate license and joined Coldwell Banker Day Lum Properties. In the past 7 years, we've enjoyed incredible growth in not only real estate sales, but with our vacation rental business. We now manage over 30 vacation rental homes. We know and love the Puna District very well, and know that we can find that special "Piece of Paradise" that you'll call home. Puna is Beautiful, Rural, Laid Back and of course, VERY Gay Friendly.

The wonderful old boardwalks of Pahoa dates back into the 1800?s and are a step back in time with some wonderful eating and people watching. The sweet little village of Kea'au is the gateway to the highway of the Volcano National Park.

Hawaii is an incredible place on this earth. You are drawn to Paradise by the beauty and the great weather, but we have discovered that there's even something better. THE PEOPLE! We have more friends here than we ever had on the mainland. You'll enjoy "talking story" everywhere you go, even when seeing friends at Wal-Mart. The spirit of "Aloha" is alive and well right here on the east side of the Big Island!
