About Gay/Lesbian Tucson

Tucson and surrounding communities are some of the most Gay Friendly neighborhoods you could find anywhere especially in the Southwest. Even though Gay marriage is still illegal in Arizona, Tucson has one of the few Domestic Partner Registries which is acknowledged by local government, businesses as well as hospitals and the local healthcare facilities.

Our City Council has gay members among them and they, as well as straight members, are frequently seen at GLBT sponsored events supporting the community.

There are a number of GLBT owned businesses and Gay friendly establishments that make it comfortable and safe to socialize and interact with other Gay people in the community.

There are no neighborhoods that one would call specifically "Gay Meccas", however most neighborhoods are happy to have Gay couples or individuals take up residency in them because Gays tend to bring up the values due to their sense of style and quality.
