About Gay Manzanillo:

Manzanillo has a reputation as being a very tranquil location with low crime and unemployment.  You will often hear the words “my Manzanillo” spoken by Nationals and non-Nationals.  Manzanillo is regarded as very tolerant of all lifestyles including gay and lesbian.   Oftentimes, asking a local National if they are gay, they will respond, “after a couple beers, sure.”  Although there is only one gay club (in the Santiago district), many of the numerous nightclubs are “mixed.”

There are also many “cruising” areas in the Region.  Any of the many opportunities to “encounter” with a local National that is not totally “out” should be handled with discretion.  It is a very private and personal choice by the local National that they don’t care to “advertise,” particularly the married individuals.  There are also many young “hustlers” that will readily steal (money, jewelry, cell phone, etc.) from you if given the opportunity.   

There is a “close knit” National and non-National gay and lesbian community in the greater Manzanillo region, with approximately 50, or so, non-National couples and singles living full time in Manzanillo area.
